DIU Law Students visit Narayanganj District & Sessions Judges Court
The Department of Law of Dhaka International University (DIU) has arranged a court visit program for its senior law students on Monday, 25 March. A group of about 40 students from 19&45 batches led by Raisul Islam Sourav, Assistant Professor & Chairperson, Mily Sultana & S HasannulBanna. Students got the opportunity to observe practical aspects of our justice system and met with the justice seekers directly. They also inspected court documents and visited court proceedings and hearing at District and Sessions Judges Court,Narayanganj.
During the visit, the students met withDistrict & Sessions Judge Mohammad Anisur Rahman,who briefed them about the present condition of the lawyers and law profession. He also said about the importance of gathering technical and practical knowledge from the court arena. This is a routine program of the university where students get the scope of learning beyond class room. At the court yard, students were seen busy to compare their academic knowledge with practical aspects. Some of the students watched detail court procedure for the first time in their life. Also, they felt about the importance of visiting court and gathering knowledge first hand.
After the court visit, students went to Panam city and Sonargaon Folklore musem to explore the heritage and culture of the country.
